Company Profile

Aparna Kakrania  created Design Dimensions in 1997 from a tiny room in her parent’s house. The reason she started her own company wasn't so much an entrepreneurial ambition but the fact that she didn’t enjoy the monotonous method of design that was being followed back then. She believes that a lot has changed since. The world of design is far more innovative and experimental today.

Design Dimensions originated as a Graphic Design company with an idea of eventually branching out into a multi platform design hub. We provide strategies that build strong and lasting partnerships via design, strategic planning and information architecture for interactive, print and a range of other media. We focus on crafting designs that stay true to the culture and ethos of the client yet depicts a distinct modern-day attitude and disposition. Everybody on our team has an obsession for design. The core of our work revolves around marrying functionality with aesthetic. Our work draws maximum inspiration from India’s abundant heritage. 

Invitation card Design

We believe that creative ideas don’t just come out of thin air, which is why we follow a distinctive creative process. A process, that breaks project development into phases, right from concept to creation. Around 2005 - 2006 a lot of Aparna’s friends and family would drop in to the studio and ask to have their wedding invitations designed. Until we started getting a lot of enquiries and then had to formalize a unit which is a sub-unit of Design Dimensions and wears the cloak of 'The Invite Shop’.

At The Invite Shop, we tell stories of love. Texture mapping the eternal love stories of the past, each picture is meticulously traced from old paintings, murals and parchments. Folklore and patterns rendered in a riot of colours speak volumes of the vibrancy of a grand Indian wedding. Each card is handcrafted to illustrate the love, solemnity and Grandeur of the occasion. 

  

SPACE DESIGN

In 2008, Design Dimensions branched out from providing pure graphic design solutions to space design for the hospitality sector. Suryagarh- a luxury boutique hotel in Jaisalmer was the first followed by Samsara and a few other properties in Rajasthan. 

Interior & Space Design

Our space design projects led us to work directly with different craftsman of Rajasthan as the areas we were working in had less availability of products, which then led us to develop our own. Tactile association with a lot of materials like wood, stone, metal and working with tailors, stonemasons, painters etc. taught us a lot about the functionality of each material.

In 2013, we started our experimental foray into the world of Indian Handicrafts. We decided to start a brand that would speak the global design language whilst being 100% Indian. Thus was born, Indventory in July 2015.
